Our facilities are available for retreats, meetings, company workshops, and private gatherings.
We provide meeting space for groups of various sizes, along with delicious food service for most any occassion. Many individual churches from various denominations and other groups use the facilities for their own events. This is the ideal place for Church Officer Training, Confirmation Classes, Couples and Singles Retreats, Youth Group trips, Family Reunions and Sewing Retreats are just a few of the possibilities.
Companies and businesses, like HGTV, also have used our challenge and ropes course as a teambuilding and communications workshop.
Whatever the occasion, a visit to the John Knox Center provides a natural setting for people to get away from the distractions of everyday life and experience a time of rest and fellowship.
The Center has bed space for up to 144 participants - all beds are bunkbeds (pillows and linens are not provided). Day use activities are an option and campsites are available on Second Peninsula. Units A, B, & C each house up to 40 participants in 5 cabins. The Dorm houses 24 participants in 6 rooms with bathrooms, and is handicapped accessible. There is a common area with 3 bedrooms at each end. All cabins have heat and a/c. Cabins A1-5 are rustic with a lodge providing restrooms with showers and a small meeting area. Cabins B1-5 have two bathrooms each and are handicapped accessible. Cabins C1-3 have been upgraded and have designated restrooms with showers in the dorm. Cabins C4-5 have two bathrooms each.
Our newly renovated B Lodge is ideal for meetings and gatherings of up to 60 with tables& chairs. Jim Abel Lodge is ideal for meetings and small get-togethers with couches and tables & chairs. The larger room holds 40-45 participants, depending on setup, while the smaller room holds 20. Both lodges have a small kitchen area for preparing snacks. Groups over 60 meet in the dining hall.
The open-air pavilion has a stage, a volleyball net and 4 basketball goals.
