The Place:
Summer camp at Camp John Knox has been a favorite of kids all over the Southeast for 50 years. The Camp Experience:
We believe that relationships are an integral part of the ministry of Camp John Knox. The small-group approach to camping fosters relationship growth and community building. One boys cabin with their male counselor, partners with a girls cabin and their female counselor to make up a “family group”. It is within this small group campers spend most of their time. The community that forms is an important aspect of the camp experience. Campers mingle with other family groups at all group activities most evenings, meals, and worship.  Because of our individualized experience, campers can attend multiple sessions and have a unique experience each time!

Activities at CJK:
Campers at Camp John Knox will enjoy full days and evenings of fun and exciting camp activities. Campers will have the opportuity to visit the critters in our Nature Center, do fun arts & crafts, play lots of fun games, and enjoy our beautiful waterfront. With almost 4 miles of shoreline, our waterfront is a key aspect of camp days at CJK; from watergames to the chance to explore with canoeing and sailing to taking a relaxing swim, campers will have their chance to enjoy our lake. Returning this year, campers during our Marathon camps will have the opportunity to experience exciting skiing on our lake.

NEW in 2010: Camp John Knox has added 2 new exciting activities for this summer, archery and frisbee golf!

Day Camp I                         June 7 - 11
  Ages 4 - 10                                           $140

Camp just for the day; everyday for a week! This session is for kids who love the camp experience, but just aren’t ready to stay the night. Swimming, crafts, songs, games, and even S'more's tailored to our smallest campers. Campers will visit the critters in our Nature Center; so don’t forget to pack a camera! We encourage parents to carpool with other families each day. A low counselor to camper ratio ensures each child gets plenty of personal attention. This session is so popular we have added a second with a Pioneer twist! Come to both for very different experiences!
Feeling the gas crunch? To keep you from making two trips a day to camp, we are inviting you to stay and enjoy the day while your child is in Day Camp. Call the office for details.

Pioneer Day Camp               July 19 - 23
  Ages 4 - 10                                              $145

Discover life as a pioneer at five awesome days at camp.  Campers will begin their journey back in time each day at the front parking lot with a hayride to our 2nd Peninsula where activities for this camp will be held.  There they will spend the day learning about pioneer life with hands on activities.  Making butter, rope bracelets, and candles, cooking out, going on canoe rides and playing pioneer games are just the beginning.  This camp is very different from Day Camp I.  Your child will have two different experiences if they come to both sessions.
