SOCIAL STUDIES STANDARDS:

4th Grade Social Studies Standards:

4.3.0: Geography: Geography enables the students to see, understand and appreciate the web of relationships between people, places and environments. Students will use the knowledge, skills and understanding of concepts within the six essential elements of geography: world in spatial terms, places and regions, physical systems, human systems, environment and society, and the uses of geography.
4.3.01: The student will understand how to use maps, globes, and other geographic representations, tools and technologies to acquire, process and report information from a spatial perspective.
4.3.02: The student will recognize the interaction between human and physical systems around the world.
4.3.03: The student will understand how to identify and locate major physical and political features on globes and maps.
4.3.04: The student will understand the geographic factors that determined the locations of and patterns of settlements in Tennessee.

5th Grade Social Studies Standards:

5.3.0: Geography: Geography enables the students to see, understand and appreciate the web of relationships between people, places and environments. Students will use the knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts within the six essential elements of geography: world in spatial terms, places and regions, physical systems, human systems, environment and society and the uses of geography.

5.3.02: The student will recognize the interaction between human and physical systems around the world.
5.3.03: The student will demonstrate how to identify and locate major physical and political features on globes and maps.

6th Grade Social Studies Standards:

6.3.0: Geography: Geography enables the students to see, understand and appreciate the web of relationships among people, places, and environments. Students will use the knowledge, skills and understanding of concepts within the six essential elements of geography: world in spatial terms, places and regions, physical systems, human systems, environment and society, and the uses of geography.
6.3.01: The student will understand the characteristics and uses of maps.
6.3.02: The student will know the location of places and geographic features, both physical and human.
6.3.03: The student will understand the characteristics and uses of spatial organization of Earth’s surface.
6.3.04: The student will understand the physical and human characteristics of place.

7th Grade Social Studies Standards:
